Important! Proof of Residency required before enrolling

Parents must provide proof of residency before enrolling a child in the Killeen ISD such as utility bill or statement that indicates the address in the guardian's name. No cell phone, credit card or similar bills/statements. Also accepted: Lease or contract for residential address in the guardian's name, housing orders for on-post housing in the guardian's name, signed/dated affidavit from person with whom student lives along with acceptable documentation of residency for home owner/lessee

Immunization Requirements 

Pre-K students from Military families can enroll this year thanks to new legislation making children of active duty military (including National Guard and reserves) or children with military parents injured or killed while on active duty eligible. Requirements: Children must be four years old on or before September 1, 2006. The active duty parent(s) must provide proof of their military status plus the child's shot record, social security card and birth certificate.

Enrollment Requirements:

(1) Birth certificate and shot records required

(2) If qualifying based on income, proof of all household income or active participation in an assistance program required

(3) Foster children automatically qualify for pre-k, in most cases

(4)* NEW - If you are active duty military and registering a pre-k student, proof of your military status through August 14, 2006 is required.

Pre-kindergarten classes...

Full-day kindergarten classes are available in KISD. A child must meet the following guidelines before enrolling:

(1) be at least 4 years old on or before September 1, 2006; and

(2) unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or

(3) be from a family whose income is at or below a certain level, as determined by federal guidelines; or

(4) be in a homeless situation; or

(5) *NEW - be a dependant of an active duty military member (to include activated National Guard or Reserves). This also includeds pre-k aged children who have a parent who has been injured or killed while on active duty.

Kindergarten classes...

To enroll, a child must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2006

First Grade classes...

To enroll, a child must be 6 years old on or before Sepember 1, 2006.
