Mission
The Gold Star Family Support Center mission is to offer support and create programs to
address the needs of all families who suffer the loss of a Soldier.
Vision
For Gold Star Families to receive continuing care and support from the Army Family and the community at-large.
Purpose
To provide care services to all families who have suffered the loss of a Soldier with a primary focus on the Gold Star Families. This includes facilitating support groups, coordinating events, as well as, linking families to community resources and services. The Center will also be available for community training and serves as a resource for the Military Family.
Functions
Gold Star Family Support Center Functions

Providing extended care for Gold Star Families beyond what the Care Teams and Casualty Assistance Officers can offer.

To act as the Gold Star Family's voice when necessary.

To act as a liaison between the Gold Star Family and their Unit: Communication and contact information for special memorials and events.

Support group: sense of community that understands.

Resources and Programs: Grief Camp for kids, web site, bereavement materials.

Training Family Readiness Groups, Care Teams, and Casualty Assistance Officers.
